BMW is introducing a new, more economical and cheaper variant of its iX1 with two-wheel-drive. The eDrive20 has a single electric motor powering the front wheels with a maximum output of 201bhp and has a range of 268 to 296 miles.
The eDrive20 will start production in November 2023 and be priced from £44,560 for the Sport model. The xLine trim will be available for £46,500 and M Sport will retail at £49,310.
The car accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 8.6 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 106 mph.
The battery is the same size as the twin motor eDrive30, at 64.7 kWh. It enables AC charging at up to 11 kW as standard or 22 kW as an option. Direct current rapid charging is at up to 130 kW.
