BMW has pulled the wraps off its new all-electric iX2, which it says is a ‘Sports Activity Coupe’. It will be priced from £56,540 and will go on sale in March 2024.
The new electric model shares its 4,554mm long bodyshell with petrol and hybrid versions of the new, second generation X2. This makes it 54mm longer than an iX1.
The iX2 is powered by two motors generating 313hp when in temporary boost mode, giving a 0-62 time of 5.6 seconds. The top speed is capped at 112mph.
The battery, borrowed from the i4, has a usable capacity of 64.8kWh, giving a range of 259-266 miles. The standard AC charge rate is 11kW with a 22kW option, while DC charging is at 130kW, meaning a 10-80% charge takes 29 minutes.
