Another of the UK’s biggest charge point operators has announced new, higher, charging prices.
bp pulse will raise the cost of using its 50 and 150kW chargers (which it calls Rapid and Ultra-Rapid) to 79p per kWh for customers using contactless payment. Registered users will pay 77p per kWh while customers who pay a monthly subscription of £7.85 will pay 63p per kWh. These are around 10p/kWh more than last week.
The move brings bp pulse into line with rivals including Osprey, Shell Recharge, Swarco EConnect and MFG EV Power, which are all also priced at 79p/kWh.
The increases follow Podpoint's announcement last week that it was raising the cost of using its chargers at Tesco and Lidl by up to 132%. Customers using the brand’s 50kW chargers now pay 62p per kWh at Tesco while Lidl's are now 65p.
