BYD has announced UK pricing for the SEALION 7, and it starts from £44,990 for the entry level Comfort rear-wheel drive spec. The SEALION 7 is a Tesla Model Y rival with range of up to 312 miles, a top speed of 134 mph, and acceleration from 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds. It sits on the same platform as the Seal saloon, but at 4.8-metres long and with a coupe-SUV shape and stance, this is the bigger, family-focussed option in BYD’s lineup.  

The model features BYD’s ‘Blade Battery’, which features 230 kW DC charging on the upper spec models - it will be able to charge from 20% to 80% in 24 minutes. The SEALION 7 Design and Excellence specs will have a 523 bhp motor with a 0-62mph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 134 mph, while the Comfort model has a 308 bhp motor and a 0-62mph time of 6.7 seconds. 

The SEALION 7 is available with two battery capacities - The Comfort and Design trims come with an 82.5 kWh battery, offering up to 300 miles WLTP range on RWD models and 283 miles on AWD, while the top-spec Excellence AWD trim features a 91.3 kWh battery, achieving the longest range in the lineup at 312 miles WLTP. All versions offer 11 kW AC charging and up to 150 kW or 230 kW DC fast charging, depending on the model. A heat pump is included as standard in all models.

The SEALION 7 will go on sale in the UK in early 2025.
