One of the UK’s fastest growing public charge point operators has become the latest brand to join Zap-Pay – a payment system that allows Zap-Map app users to activate charging sessions across multiple operators. MFG, which has ultra-rapid charging devices at locations stretching from Torquay to Wigan, joins Osprey GeniePoint and MER as part of Zap-Pay family.
MFG EV Power is owned by Motor Fuel Group, the largest independent forecourt operator in the UK, and the network currently consists of more than 200 rapid and ultra-rapid charging devices at service stations across the UK. By 2030, MFG is planning to invest around £400 million in 3,000 ultra-rapid 150kW and 350kW EV charging devices across the network.
However, according to the Zap-Map app, customers using Zap-Pay to use the MFG network will pay 66p per kWh while customers using contactless payment will pay 65p per kWh.
The completed integration means that more than 3,000 charging devices across the UK are now Zap-Pay enabled. The brand recently announced that Fastned and Revive, alongside on-street providers Connected Kerb and Charge My Street, were set to join Zap-Pay in the near future as soon as its live data streams had been integrated.
