CUPRA has revealed facelifted versions of the Formentor and Leon PHEVs with a new look and an impressive 62 miles of electric-only range.

The new look nose includes the new CUPRA logo on the bonnet, triangular matrix LED lights, and bigger lower ‘mouth’ air intake.

The same triangular lighting design acts as a frame for the central CUPRA logo, which is now illuminated in the rear. There are also more matt colours such as Century Bronze or Enceladus Grey.

The interior is said to offer a higher quality feel, with newly designed elements such as the central console. A new and improved dashboard includes a digital display behind the steering wheel as well as in the larger 12.9’’ infotainment system, which now also comes with an illuminated slider. Both cars feature a new Sennheiser 12-speaker audio sound system.

The new generation of plug-in hybrid delivers 268bhp while offering more than 62 miles of all-electric range thanks to a much larger 19.7kWh battery. This keeps it in the 8% BIK tax band for company car drivers.

The cars are also now compatible with rapid chargers, taking up to 50kW DC, and AC rates go to a maximum of 11kW from 3.6kW, allowing much faster home and public top ups.

The cars will be available from the autumn.
