Toyota has revealed ‘teaser’ pictures and details of two new battery electric vehicle concepts that will make their debut at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo at the end of October.
Both cars will feature Toyota’s new battery tech which is claims will be revolutionary, offering almost 500 miles of range, lower cost and faster charging.
The SUV-type FT-3e appears to be the size of a Corolla , but has chunky styling and digital displays extending from the lower side of the body to the upper door section. These present information as the driver approaches the car, including battery state of charge, interior temperature and air quality.
The FT-Se is a high-performance sports coupe badged as a GR - Gazoo Racing - which is said to hint at a new Supra. We are promised it has a “next generation cockpit featuring intuitive controls” which “contribute to a more immersive driving experience”.
Features include a low instrument panel to improve visibility and kneepads to help brace yourself against G-forces when cornering hard.
More pictures and details are due within the next two weeks.
