Good news for anyone who finds the current Citroen Ami just too luxurious – Citroen is to produce more of its stripped down Buggy models – but just 40 are coming to the UK.
The ‘car’ was originally created as a concept car in December 2021, and then 50 were built for customers in June 2022. They sold out within minutes to collectors. It was hinted at the time that more could be produced.
The new “My Ami Buggy II” is very similar to the last edition, with no doors or roof, a khaki body colour with acid yellow details. Black protective elements, such as reinforced bumpers, skid plates, headlamp bezels, wheel arches, rocker panels and a purely decorative rear spoiler, all give a more butch appearance.
More for less? The Buggy II is price at £10,495 There are improvements to make the Buggy slightly more practical however. To be better protected from bad weather, protective components have been added and modified.
New plastic covers with zips have been added, in addition to the roof protection to provide an almost closed passenger compartment in wind, cold or rain. The covers roll towards the rear near the seats and then fix on the door pillars with press studs. In the middle of summer, when they are not needed, they can be stored in a garage. A new roof closure system has been created to make it easier to use.
UK sales will take place via the Citroën starting on 20 June, priced at £10,495 on the road.
