Hyundai creates an electric car-toon with Disney special

If you don’t find the Ioniq 5 entertaining enough, Hyundai has created a special edition which features added Disney features, including Mickey Mouse wheels and LCD displays where you’d usually find the head and tail lamps.

The Disney100 Platinum Concept has been created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of entertainment company and features special Disney-inspired visual features and entertainment including lighting and iconic Disney music. Hyundai says only 100 will be built.

The most striking features are the lamp screens at the front and back which show ‘Disney sparkle’ animations across headlights and taillights at regular intervals. 

The wheels are also Disney-inspired, featuring Mickey Mouse ear shapes, and there are Disney100 Platinum Edition badges on each front wing. 

Step inside and you’ll be treated to a Disney-themed intro on the interior screen when you turn the car on which features Disney music, the Disney100 logo and pixie dust on the screen, plus a synchronised light show featuring changing shades.

​There are also ‘pixie dust’ swishes across the glass roof, Disney100 logos embossed on front seat headrests, centre console and floormats. Finally, there are Mickey Mouse silhouettes engraved in the door trim wood.

"This is the first time that Disney has opened the doors to their design studio and granted access to Disney's iconic characters for an artistic collaboration with an automaker."

There is no word yet on a price, or if any of the 100 models will make their way to the UK.
