Hyundai has expanded its Kona Electric line-up with the addition of two new N Line trims.
The N Line and N Line S specs are inspired by performance models from the Korean firm’s N division, such as the Ioniq 5 N, and bring a range of cosmetic and equipment upgrades to the electric SUV.
The Kona Electric is the first Hyundai electric model to receive the N Line treatment, bringing it up to speed with its petrol and hybrid-powered equivalents.
Key changes over the regular Kona Electric are unique 19-inch alloy wheels and redesigned front and rear bumpers, which combine with new side skirts for a more aggressive, sporty stance. N Line cars also get gloss black wing mirrors, body-coloured wheel arch inserts, and special N Line badges. Buyers can also opt for the optional gloss black roof.
Inside there are aluminium pedals, red detailing on the dashboard and steering wheel, and new heated sports seats with contrast red stitching and N Line logos. All N Line cars also get a specification boost to include interior ambient lighting, heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging and a powered tailgate as standard.
Both trims are only available on the more powerful 65kWh model and the N Line starts at £40,395, while the N Line S costs from £43,095. It adds Alcantara and leather seats with ventilation, dual-zone climate control and a Bose sound system, as well as additional driver assistance systems, a full-width daytime running light and LED headlights. It also unlocks various options packs, including an electric sunroof, remote parking and even a heated charging door.
While the N Line cars may look sportier, there are no mechanical changes to the Kona Electric, meaning buyers get a 65kWh battery and 215bhp motor providing up to 282 miles of range.
