Leading UK charge point provider InstaVolt has announced a partnership agreement with one of the UK’s biggest commercial property landlords, LondonMetric. The move will see InstaVolt install new charging hubs at new locations around the country, with the first 10 locations already at the planning stage.
LondonMetric owns a vast portfolio of commercial properties around the country, including large retail parks close to major routes. Phase one of the roll-out will see 10 as-yet un-named sites go live. In a statement, LondonMetric and InstaVolt revealed that construction at all ten will be complete ‘within the coming months’ and that an average of six chargers with speeds of up 160kW will be deployed at each location.
InstaVolt has also confirmed that all new sites have been designed to be fully compliant with the latest PAS1899 BSI standards that set out accessibility guidelines for charging sites. As a result, all 10 sites will include a number of accessible features such as chargers installed flush to the ground at the same level as the parking bay, removal of wheel stops and adequate lighting throughout.
The partnership with LondonMetric and the installation of the sites across the UK forms part of InstaVolt’s infrastructure expansion plans following its acquisition by EQT in 2022. The company is working towards a target of 10,000 rapid chargers by 2032.
