Kia has announced pricing and specifications for the Kia EV3, with a starting price of £32,995 rising to £42,995.

Following the example of the EV6 and EV9, Kia will offer three grades to EV3 buyers in the UK: ‘Air’, ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’.

The EV3 ‘Air’ is offered with a choice of 58.3kWh or 81.4kWh battery packs, with an official range of 267 miles with the smaller battery, or up to 372 miles on the larger long-range 81.4kWh pack.

‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ versions are offered solely with the larger 81.4kWh battery, and are capable of driving up to 347 miles on a single charge. The loss is mainly due to the bigger wheels which create more drag.

The starting point for the EV3 line-up is the ‘Air’ grade. This is priced from £32,995 on-the-road for the 58.3kWh battery pack, and £35,995 with the long-range 81.4kWh battery pack. Both battery packs feature a front-wheel drive single-motor powertrain, producing up to 201bhp and peak torque of 283Nm. The 58.3kWh battery pack is capable of travelling up to 267 miles on a single charge, while the long-range 81.4kWh has a maximum driving range of 372 miles.

The charging speeds will be a disappointment to many buyer however - the maximum DC rate is 128kW, less than key rivals.

Every EV3 has a three-screen dashboard layout as standard, with a 12.3-inch driver display, 5.3-inch climate control touchscreen and 12.3-inch navigation system. Heated front seats and steering wheel. Front and rear parking sensors, a 25-litre frunk are also fitted to every version. The Air has 17-inch alloy wheels and grey cloth upholstery.

Upgrading to the ‘GT-Line’ grade gives the long-range 81.4kWh battery pack for a driving range of up to 347 miles, more aggressive ‘GT-Line’ styling cues, and 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic flush door handles, a wireless mobile phone charger and digital key.

The flagship of the EV3 lineup is the ‘GT-Line S’, with a price tag of £42,995. Like the ‘GT-Line’, it features the 81.4kWh long-range battery pack but adds equipment including a 8-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, head-up display, sunroof, electric front seats, power tailgate, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and 360-degree Surround View Monitor. Additionally, the ‘GT-Line S’ model is available with a heat pump for £900.

UK customer deliveries will start from late 2024.
