Kia is set to outline its expanded global EV leadership strategy later this month, with the highly anticipated second Kia EV Day taking place on 27 February at Tarraco Arena in Tarragona, Spain. The event will mark the global debut of three key models, including the production-ready Kia EV4, the first Dedicated Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) model, the Kia PV5, and the Concept EV2.

Following the inaugural Kia EV Day in Korea in 2023, this year’s event will see Kia unveil the production-ready EV4, which was previously previewed in concept form alongside the EV3.

The EV4 is expected to use Kia’s E-GMP platform, shared with other models in the brand’s EV range. While technical details remain under wraps, the car is likely to feature the latest 800V architecture for ultra-rapid charging, along with powertrain options that include both rear- and all-wheel drive variants.

It will be positioned as a direct rival to the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai IONIQ 6, targeting buyers looking for an ultra-efficient electric saloon. More details, including range, power figures, and battery sizes, are expected to be confirmed at the official reveal.

Also set to be unveiled in Tarragona is the PV5, a vehicle that was first seen as a concept at CES 2024 and is set to be Kia’s first dedicated PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) model, designed to cater to a variety of commercial and mobility needs. Kia has invested heavily in the development of its PBV project over recent years and sees the technology playing a major role in the commercial vehicle sector.

Completing the trio is the Concept EV2, a compact EV that further expands Kia’s bespoke electric model family. The production version will sit below the current EV3 and promises to bring Kia’s electric range within reach of even more buyers. As with other models in the Kia range, the Concept EV2 will showcase the brand’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy and will have a clear visual link to other models in the brand’s line-up.
