Can’t decide what colour to choose for your new Porsche Taycan? Why not have them all? Streetwear designer Sean Wotherspoon has teamed up with Porsche to create a one-off Taycan Cross Turismo. The American, famed for his colourful designs and the creator of some of the world’s most collectible trainers, was commissioned by Porsche to create an art car that echoed his famous style.

The end result is a migraine-inducing Taycan Cross Turismo that features a palette of colours named after family members. The hues include Nash Blue, Sean Peach, Loretta Purple, and Ashley Green. Inside, the Taycan includes a host of unique materials, many of which Wotherspoon has used previously for his footwear designs. Wotherspoon first hit the headlines in 2018 when he created Nike Air Max 97/1 trainers that incorporate corduroy in the upper section. The fabric has since become a trademark of his designs, and appears in multiple locations in the Taycan’s interior.

The cabin also features cork on the dashboard, A-pillars and the top of the steering wheel. Sections of the centre console and floor mats are also finished in cork. Incorporating the cork trim proved something of a headache for Porsche: the wood comes in rolls, and has to be hand cut to the exact shape to take into account the dashboard’s complex curves.

The seats are trimmed in artificial leather (Wotherspoon is vegan) with multi-coloured panels while the carpets are finished in green pile to represent grass.

During the design and build process, Wotherspoon paid a number of visits to Porsche’s Design Studio in Weissach. The build team used virtual reality modelling to test out ideas before building the final car.

The Wotherspoon Taycan latest art car to commissioned by Porsche art car following successful collaborations with Japanese artists Shun Sudo and American Richard Phillips, who adapted his famous Queen of the Night paining to the curves of a Taycan.

The one-off Taycan was hand-finished at the Porsche Design Studio in Weissach, Germany
