Renault has announced that prices for the eagerly-anticipated new 5 will start from only £22,995 when order books open in January 2025. 

The all-electric hatchback will be available in three trim levels from launch – Evolution, Techno, and Iconic – and with a choice of two powertrains – the 120hp Urban Range and 150hp Comfort Range. The top Iconic will cost £28,995.

Standard across the range is a heat pump, built-in Google services with EV-optimised navigation and bi-directional charging with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities. The Renault 5 is also equipped with Plug & Charge, which simplifies the charging experience by automatically handling authorisation and payment as you drive up to a compatible charger.

A choice of body colours are available from launch, two of which – Pop Yellow! and Pop Green! – are designed to mimic shades used in the original 5’s 1970s catalogue. Others are available including Arctic White and Diamond Black, while Midnight Blue can be found as a two-tone option with the Diamond Black roof from Techno trim.

Up to 25 advanced driver safety assistance systems are available, including rear occupant safe exit alert, active driver assist combining adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go and lane centring assist, as well as blind spot monitoring and hands-free parking. A new feature – My Safety Shield – allows drivers to activate their preferred advanced driver safety assistance systems at the touch of a button. 

Demonstrators will be available for test drive from March, with the first customer deliveries expected shortly afterwards.

Evolution - £22,995 - standard equipment: 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, 10.1-inch central display, 7-inch digital driver information display, Apple CarPlay + Android Auto, cruise control, rear parking sensors, 11kW bidirectional charger

Techno - £24,995 - Google built-in and DC charge preconditioning, 10-inch digital driver information display, adaptive cruise control with stop & go, wireless phone charger, ‘5’ bonnet charging indicator, rear-view camera, central armrest, two-tone paint options
