Shell Recharge has announced a new roaming partner in the UK, adding to the number of publicly accessible third-party charge points its customers can use.
Motor Fuel Group is the UK’s largest network of independent petrol station operators, but an increasing number of the group’s 900-plus forecourts now feature capacity for electric rapid charging.
The new roaming agreement between Shell and MFG means that an additional 240 rapid chargers across the are now accessible via the Shell Recharge app. All MFG charge points use certified 100% renewable energy.
Shell says that the agreement will be particularly helpful for electric drivers using A-roads, as well as bolstering motorway rapid-charge options and dedicated EV hubs.
Shell Recharge - which has signed 25 similar agreements with a number of other ‘roaming partners’ across the UK, allowing Shell customers to use the charging points of other providers with their Shell credentials. In total, Recharge users now have access to over 14,000 charging points across Britain.
