Vauxhall’s Mokka gets (slightly) new look

Vauxhall has given its Mokka a slight revamp, with a tweaked look inside and out. The company has also simplified the range and binned the old battery and motor combo, leaving the 154 bhp motor and 54 kWh battery as the only choice for the Electric model. This gives an official range of 250 miles (WLTP).

The newcomer will be available in the “Design”, “GS” and Ultimate trims. Customers simply choose their trim, their powertrain, and their colour.

Vauxhall says it has purposefully not completely overhauled the Mokka's appearance but rather ‘subtly emphasised its strengths’. The black ‘Vizor’ face integrates

The headlights and Griffin emblem into one element. As on the new Vauxhall Frontera, the signature of the LED lights at the front and rear illuminates into three ‘lighting blocks’.

Chrome is replaced by a black design line running from the bonnet to the rear above the side windows. There are also new special aero wheels and a redesigned front bumper to improve aerodynamics.

Inside, all fabrics are made from recycled materials. The new steering wheel is flattened at the top and bottom, and the centre console between the front seats is finished in a matt silver tone.

Controversially, some of the settings previously controlled via proper buttons are now incorporated into the central colour touchscreen. The remaining switches for the electric parking brake and the selectable driving modes are borrowed from the new Vauxhall Grandland

The new Mokka now offers a 10-inch digital driver information display and an equally large colour touchscreen as standard. The system recognises the driver's personal profile on the wirelessly connected smartphone. The system also uses ChatGPT to independently suggests destinations and routes, offering EV routing with charging station display.

There is no word on pricing yet, but there’s the possibility that it could be cheaper than the outgoing model, compensating for the loss of the entry level Griffin Edition, and reflecting the recently realigned Corsa range.
