Geely's premium electric brand, Zeekr, is accelerating its expansion plans with a seven-model blitz planned for the next two and a half years. This aggressive strategy highlights the brand’s ambition to win over European buyers in big numbers.

Leaked details from an investor presentation offer a glimpse into Zeekr's future lineup. The plans suggest that Zeekr is looking to offer new cars in a range of sectors, a move that will potentially put it in direct competition with Geely’s other electric brands such as Volvo and smart. According to the leaked documents, Zeekr is planning four SUVs, two MPVs, and an estate car designed specifically for European markets.

Bringing back the electric MPV

While the large MPV market in Europe is relatively small in comparison to SUVs, their popularity in mainland China suggests that a new wave of models is likely to reinvigorate the sector of the coming years. The recently revealed Zeekr Mix will join the already established full-size Zeekr 009, while a third MPV codenamed "Zeekr Beluga" is slated for a 2026 arrival. Details about Beluga's positioning remain under wraps.

Four new SUV arrivals

Zeekr’s proposed SUV line-up is set to cause the biggest stir with the introduction of new models in all four key sectors. Codenamed CX1E, DX1E, EX1E and Grampus, the four models will be completely new. The CX1E, which is rumoured to adopt the name Zeekr Ark when it arrives, is aimed squarely at the Tesla Model Y, which remains the best-selling electric car in Europe. It is expected to launch in China later this year with European sales starting in early 2025. The DX1E and EX1E are expected to sit above the Ark, with the latter tipped to be the large SUV Zeekr has already confirmed for later this year.

Codenamed CC1E, Zeekr’s planned estate car is set to compete against the Nio ET5 Touring, along with potentially undercut premium rivals such as the BMW i5 Touring. It’s likely to be badged Zeekr 007 Touring and is also penned for an early 2025 launch.

Set for UK debut in 2025

The new models will spearhead a second wave of Zeekr products, following the European launch of the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X. Although neither model is offered in the UK yet, the brand is planning to start UK sales in 2025, potentially with a multi-car line up. According to reports, the brand has already started right-hand drive production for certain markets, so that date could move closer.

Although the Zeekr name will be new to many buyers, the brand continues to enjoy significant sales success at home. Between January and May 2024, the company delivered just under 70,000 cars a year-on-year increase of 112%. Total sales to date are 260,000 units.

Crate expectations: the Zeekr X will be one of the first models from the brand to land in the UK next year
