Lotus has priced up its Porsche Taycan-rivalling Emeya hyper GT, with the electric four-door saloon starting at £94,950.
The new Lotus saloon is expected to go on sale here in the UK in the third quarter of 2024, and will be offered in entry-level, S and R trims – the latter two will be priced at £107,450 and £129,950 respectively.
Underneath the swoopy four-door body lies Lotus's new Electric Premium Architecture, which also forms the basis of the Eletre SUV. It can be stretched or lengthened depending on requirements, and can fit different battery and motor combinations. The Emeya R packs twin motors, giving four-wheel drive and a hefty 905bhp, and allows the car from 0-62mph in less than three seconds – putting the Lotus on par with the Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
Lotus hasn't revealed the specifications for the entry-level Emeya and Emeya S yet, but it's likely they'll mirror the Eletre models, which get 603bhp.
The Emeya gets a 102kWh battery pack to give a range of 379 miles, and it'll be able to charge from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes when using a 350kW charger. A suite of driving modes will come as standard, allowing the driver to control the ride height, air suspension stiffness, acceleration response and seat configuration.
