MG has expanded its MG4 line up again with the arrival of a new Extended Range version with up to 323 miles of WLTP range.
Priced from £36,495, the latest addition to the MG4 range comes with a 77kWh battery pack and will sit alongside the Standard range 51kWh and Long Range. It becomes the first MG electric car to offer a WLTP range of more than 300 miles.
Upgrading from the Long Range to the Extended range model will cost buyers an additional £4,000, although even with a list price of £36,495, the MG4 still offers more range than any other comparable rival. Interestingly, the Extended Range model has been priced at exactly the same figure as the recently introduced MG4 XPower.
In addition to featuring a larger battery pack, the Extended Range model also gets a power boost over the Long Range model thanks to a 241bhp motor that drives the rear wheels. According to MG’s figures, the new model is capable of sprinting from 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds.
In terms of design latest MG4 also features larger 18-inch alloy wheels and a black two-tone roof and is available in Trophy specification only. It will come with 135kW rapid charging which will allow a 10-80% charge time of 39 minutes.
The new Extended Range model is available to order with the first deliveries expected in the UK by the end of September.
