Range
The Vauxhall Mokka Electric has a claimed range of 209 miles, but we’d estimate a more realistic real-world figure will be in the region of 190 miles in the summer and near 150-160 in the colder months. The Mokka Electric has three driving modes, ‘Eco’, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, and choosing either of the two extremes will affect the range considerably. Opting for ‘Sport’ will bring the range right down to the 130-150 mark, while in ‘Eco’ you could theoretically stretch the Mokka Electric to over 250 miles before you needed to plug it in.
Battery
The Vauxhall Mokka Electric gets a 50kWh battery pack. It’s shared with a number of Stellantis (the company which owns Vauxhall) brands such as Peugeot and Citroen, but manufacturers such as Kia, Volkswagen and Renault all offer larger sizes in their rival crossovers. Stellantis does offer a 54kWh pack for the Jeep Avenger and updated versions of the Peugeot e-2008 and DS 3, and it’s likely the facelifted Vauxhall Mokka Electric, due in 2024, will receive this and consequently get a range boost to 250-odd miles.
Charging
The Vauxhall Mokka Electric will take up to 100kW from a public DC charger, which is fast for a car of this size. In fact some cars like the Nissan Leaf can only accept half that, and it means the Mokka can get to 80% in just half an hour. Thanks to a 11kW on-board charger, an overnight charge from a home wallbox will take 7.5 hours. You can also set delayed charging which is great if you want to plug in at a certain time but want the car to charge at a different time to take advantage of cheaper off-peak rates.
