Genesis has unveiled an updated version of its Electrified GV70, the first redesign of the electric SUV since its launch in March 2022. This refresh sees the model gain a number of exterior design tweaks and upgraded interior features.
Externally, the redesigned Electrified GV70 gains new detailing with the revised front grille sporting a different ‘G-Matrix’ pattern and a wider, more defined front bumper. New headlights incorporate Genesis’s Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology for improved lighting performance. The side profile introduces new 20-inch matte dark grey wheels, while the standard 19-inch wheels now come in a darker shade. At the rear, Genesis has repositioned the indicators within the combination lights, aligning them with the same double-deck design concept seen across the vehicle. Two-Line chrome accents and a revised third brake light complete the rear end update. Additionally, a new exterior colour option, Ceres Blue, is offered in both gloss and matte finishes.
Inside, the Electrified GV70 now features a 27-inch OLED display that integrates the instrument cluster and infotainment functions into a single horizontal layout. Touch controls for climate systems and an extended mood lighting system are also incorporated. New aluminium speaker covers, coupled with an upgraded Bang & Olufsen sound system, improve the cabin ambience, while a new Milky Way Pattern Mood Lighting adds a little more bling to the driving experience.
As before the Electrified Genesis GV70 is equipped with a 74.0 kWh usable battery, offering a WLTP-rated range of up to 283 miles. It also features an 800V electrical system that delivers a maximum charging capacity of 233kW. That means it can replenish its battery from 10% to 80% in around 18 minutes at an appropriate DC fast-charging station. For home or slower public charging, it supports up to 11 kW AC charging, requiring approximately eight hours to fully recharge.
The redesigned Electrified GV70 is set to go on sale in Korea in the first quarter of 2025, with further details on specifications to be revealed closer to launch. UK sales are expected to start mid-2025. Expect prices to rise slightly from the current £65,105.
