Porsche is part of the giant Volkswagen Group and was first founded in the late 1930s in Stuttgart, Germany. It’s most famous product is the rear-engined 911 sports car and in recent years the company has successfully diversified into SUVs – its Cayenne was the first SUV built by a sports car company, leading to many rival car makers following Porsche’s lead. Porsche has also succeeded in plug-in hybrids too and successfully showed the addition of an electric motor could improve performance. Recently Porsche has launched the Taycan – an Electrifying.com favourite – and its sister car, the Taycan Cross Turismo.
